An Introduction to Chair Caning (12th – 13th October)
This two-day course, hosted by Brian Crossley, is aimed at those new to chair caning or with some basic craft experience. It is suitable for those who make new furniture and those with a restoration project in mind.
Participants will be taught in a small group by Brian Crossley, MBE, a second-generation chair caner who has practiced the craft for over 60 years.
Participants will be taught the ‘6-way pattern’ used on 95% of caned furniture when working on a pre-made frame representing a typical chair seat.
